This is Avie, either 90 mph or sound asleep....no in between!!

We hiked to the top of Brasstown Bald, highest point in GA. IT WAS FREEZING!!!!

Avie is happy and excited because she has been carried the whole way and Amelia is exhausted

Mountain Vacation!!

Part of the girls, and our Christmas present was going camping in the mountains. We left the Wednesday after Christmas and came home New Years Day. Now the camper got a little small.....but we had a great time. AND the girls saw snow so they were beyond thrilled!!

Day one was all about driving...and driving. We got there about 1 and were exhausted.

The next day our neighbor told us where they had seen some snow, so we told the girls at breakfast and set off.

And we found some after a short hike....up a mountain....

Next we went back to the campground, Unicoi State Park which is home to Anna Ruby Falls and hiked to the top.

After that we had lunch and headed to the Cabbage Patch Hospital in Cleveland. The girls LOVED it!!

We are back from our mountain vacation, it was so much fun!! But first the Christmas pics...

On Christmas Eve we started by making the reindeer food.....

Then after family pics, separate post, we went downtown for a few pics of the girls.

Then we had Christmas at Bev's....I am sure these two are discussing some apps....

Once we got home we had to spread the reindeer food.

Since Christmas was on a Sunday we had to get up extra early.....and someone was NOT happ...not even for Santa.

Sunday night we had cookies with Santa at Church.

Amelia had no issue with telling Santa exactly what she is looking for.

Avie wanted NO part of Santa, she was NOT happy to be up there...at all. Of course when we got done all she could talk about was Santa.

Last night we took the girls down to the Suwannee River lights. They were excited.

Apparently the lights wore Amelia out, she passed out on the way home. Avie sang Rudolph....with some of her own not nice lyrics!!

Here are some random pics from this past weekend. The girls went to a friends western birthday party.

Saturday was the motorcycle run. Swinging with Avie like this on a swing is DANGEROUS!! She laid back, let go, stood up and made me nervous.

These are random but wanted to post. The girls love to look through the pics! Last week was Spirit week at school for Homecoming, Monday was superhero day....since we dont keep capes I made one. I am so crafty, Amelia was the Peacekeeper!

It was a satin pillow case and duct tape. Apparently duct tape is HUGE in the crafting world and you can find all kind of patterns....who knew.

I get all kinda gadgets at work that the girls freak out about.....so I bring this calculator home and Avie tells me she is texting on it...

Amelia loves to download apps on my phone.....anyway....2 Avie's BE AFRAID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday was the Homecoming game at school. They always have the younger girls cheer, this year they let them run out like the ballteams. Amelia was SO EXCITED!!!!! And then when all the fans on the front row had their hands out, she grinned from ear to ear.

And the yucky bug has hit our house this season. Avie has been sick since Saturday night, this morning she has a 101.3 fever. Hopefully she will bounce back soon!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving has come and gone. The girls had a great week with Daddy...and we did lots of eating!

We worked outside. Avie loves hot chocolate!!

I ran my first official 5k on Thanksgiving. My time was 31:55....I have room for improvement. I am doing another on Saturday.

Amelia picked up lots of pecans, no she did not steal them!! So Pop helped her crack them all....and then I had the joy of picking them all out!!

again don't even ask......I will NEVER go to Walmart again the day after Christmas....Toys R Us was much more organized and not chaotic.....the people in Walmart.....no comment!! Abby and I were scared so we hid in the pharmacy.

We bought a fire pit for the dec and roasted hot dogs and made smores.

Papa and Bevy gave us our Christmas present eary, season passes to Wild Adventures so we spent Saturday there.

Kitchen makeover

My kitchen is finally done. Between softball, weddings, and sickness it was a long process but it looks 1000x better!

On the countertop we used a product by Rustoleum that you paint on,spread chips that make a ginormous mess and then seal. They look great, and they cost only about $225!!

We had painted white cabinets before with pretty gold hinges and the most beautiful gold and white ceramic knobs....the whole thing was hideous!! We decided to repaint with white and put on new knobs and drawer pulls. I was lucky on the pulls they were marked down from $4.55 to $1.62 but at checkout rang up .55 yea!!

We also replaced the sink and faucet which looks so much better....now if I could only replace the beast...I mean my oven!

And I am not real sure how to post from my phone and keep the pics in order....

I took a hiatus from blogging....I blame Pinterest...anyway we are back. The girls love to look back and see what we were doing last year. They loved Halloween, and if you trick or treated in our neighborhood (we had over 400) you could also celebrate Christmas since the lady across the street has already decorated....inside and out:)

We went with Hannah (and her parents) to the Pumpkin Patch.

Avie is wild as ever. She is either going 100 mph or asleep. She is CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!! At times....bad!! She is not afraid of anything and will try everything (total opposite of Amelia). Some of her favorite things are: climbing, jumping (she stood on the back of the couch to see if she could jump to the floor.....she made it.....but my lamp did not), running, riding her bike (we have tried without training wheels already), hot sauce (as in tabasco on everything), mustard, her Lady dog, and if you know her at all you know her MOST favorite thing in the world....chocolatey milk!!!!

She says the funniest things and her mind is always working! She also loves to fight with Amelia, and Amelia loves to fight back, that creates funny times for Donald and I:)

They are excited about Thanksgiving...I think Amelia is because she will be out of school, Avie would live at her school if allowed.

Birthday, First Day, two front teeth, and another first day!!

It has been awhile....I want to put this up so I can look back and remember...and be sad but whatever...my baby started pre-school this week so I am a little emotional....read on!!

Amelia turned 8 on July 21st! Papa also got out of the hospital on the same day so we went over there for a little cake...that is icing all over her face:)

Avie had speech clinic in Atlanta the next week. Of course she did good, she failed some of the hearing test so we had to see our ENT here. She does have freakishly small ear canals (must be hereditary....) they said her ears were impacted....yes I know that is gross!! They used a little vacuum and we are doing peroxide every night and go back next week, hopefully we will be all clear. Anyway while we were in Atlanta we stopped at an Old Navy so Avie could see her old friends:)

Of course there was a LOT OF SWIMMING over the summer!!

The girls also went to a Tea Party Birthday party....they loved it!!

Then it was that time.....3RD GRADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was fine until....Amelia did not want to sit with me in first day assembly....kinda made me sad:(

Amelia's two front teeth have been loose awhile...........since JANUARY!! They were finally pulled out (imagine a horrific exorcism) last week. We still can't talk about the incident in front of her:)

Then on Tuesday of this week Avie started Pre-School......she was so excited....she has been talking about it for weeks.

She was so excited that it was finally time to go, as I was buckeling up she kept saying go, go mama, go, go mama

This was last week.....Amelia has been waiting since August for the last day of school and it is finally here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Avie LOVES Baby Hannah....and she finally got to hold her on Sunday. Willis also let her hold her last night, I think she kissed her 283483975835 times and then told Willis "um...I'm done holding her now"

This week we also had our last baseball game. Amelia improved so much this year.

She also decided she needed a new outfit for Awards Day on Tuesday...of course a cold front came in and we had to break out a jacket....and she told me her legs were freezing. No worries though we are back in the 90's today!!

and she received the Bible Award, Mrs. Russell said such sweet things about Amelia...oh yea I teared up. Amelia has such a sweet tender heart.....sweet like her Daddy!!

THAT is a lot of shampoo, conditioner, detangler, combing, brushing, blow drying and TANGLES. Please pray right now that they will not change their minds AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and please do not tell her you love it, it is pretty, try and fix it.......she is on the border here and that would make her change her mind AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then Tuesday afternoon Leigh-Leigh came for a visit. Avie was so excited when I said Leigh is coming, she said you mean my brothers (she calls Leigh and Laurie her brothers) I said yes your brother Leigh, she said well she is my best friend too!!! Avie asked her where she lived so she told her Alabama...so Avie said where is Alabama, we told Avie it was beside Georgia.....Avie said well....I live in GA....Later, after Leigh left Avie said she wanted to go to Leigh's house I told her we could not go right now but we were going to go to her wedding, Avie said in her MOST EXCITED voice RIGHT NOW....um no Avie in August.

Christmas was a whirlwind...busy.busy.busy. The girls of course loved every minute of it!!

We gave Anna this party dress and a HUGE makeup set...she loved the dress...in fact I have seen her wear it several times since Christmas Eve.

They dressed up again on Saturday for a little Trick-or-Treating in the neighborhood, which we probably get literally hundreds every year!! So we walked to a few houses and then came back so Amelia could pass out candy. Donalds parents, Lori and Char-Char came and ate so we moved Amelia to the front porch so we could see her from inside....and that is when the ATTACK started...YELLOW JACKETS...it was HORRIBLE!!! they were everywhere, Donald was stung about 8 times, Amelia we think 5, they got in her costume and her back was the worst. Donalds parents had several and Avie and I each had 1. Avie got stung inside, because they were in our clothes.....it was SO BAD.

after lunch at Church on Sunday....someone brought these HUGE suckers!!

so....Sunday night Donald and his Dad suited up....no pics of that...and sprayed the hole. They could not get close enough to pour gas in because they were so bad!!! Then last night they burned rags soaked in gas/oil mix right by the hole and stirred up what was left....and then started digging out the MASSIVE nest and the bush that it was under.

Avie's 1st haircut!!

Monday was the day for Avie's haircut. It had gotten OUT OF CONTROL!!! There were curls, wisps, short pieces, long pieces...you get the point. She got right in the chair.....

Bobbie kept telling her to look in the mirror...I think Avie was a bit confused since there were mirrors everywhere.

She looks so cute...and lost a lot of the baby look. There are still curls at the end:)

Last night was Grandparents Night at school. My camera never does good in the gym so I snapped one outside before we went in. Amelia's glasses broke....again...so we had to dig out the old pair...I think they may be a little small for her face:)

Of course Avie was in heaven in the gym, first she sat with her little friend from Church Sage...no pic because they were everywhere, then she spent some time with Bevvy...then she saw her old friend Ms Janie who put lip gloss on her and let her dig in her purse (her all time fave thing to do!!)...she came out with a pen & a sticky note and drew this.....what an artist!! Pretty good for a 2 year old:)

So on Friday morning after I dropped my girls off I picked up Meli and we headed to Montgomery to see Laurie. SHE WAS SHOCKED!!!! She had no idea we were coming and was so surprised. Two weeks ago Laurie gave one of her kidneys to a friend. Was I surprised that she did this, no way she is just that kind of person. Anyway I wish we could have got a picture of her face when she saw us....it was priceless!! We tasked her about 8374893 questions about everything you can imagine....and probably somethings you can not!!

Her Nana was there so we were well taken care of, and her Church is STILL bringing food daily..we were THRILLED about that:) Saturday we, along with Leigh-Leigh watched TV for hours and hours and we may have eaten....more....that night Melissa and Leigh demonstrated the Zumba DVD Melissa brought....I was in pain from laughing. We had so much fun and cant't wait until she is back to her old self.

1st day

Today was the 1st day of 2nd grade for Amelia. She was less than thrilled!!...but eventually came around.

We have been so busy the last couple of weeks. Amelia had 4 teeth cut out, because her other teeth have already started coming in. She also started having nosebleeds again and they got worse so she had to go back to the ENT and have her nose cauterized...again. Avie is WILD as ever and cracks us up all the time with the things she says.

Keys Part III

We moved campgrounds on Tuesday but before we did we rode/walked around a bit. We needed a break from all the SAND!!!

we were making our way to the top of the old bridge.

then we made the big move. We were excited since the next one had a pool and we were very close to the water.

Wednesday was a BIG day on the trip....it was Amelia's 7th birthday!!!! She caught this fish that morning by herself.

that night we went and fed the tarpon's at Robbie's.....they were huge and there were tons of them. We ate there too for Mimi's b-day.

then back to the camper for cheesecake!!! We can not belive she is already 7...just a flashback from when she was born:)

back to the trip......

on Thursday we went to Long Key State Park and wandered around.....

we were not suppose to leave until Friday but around noon on Thursday Bonnie was bearing down a bit to hard for our liking....they had gotten a weather report for wind at 50 mph...now in a camper that did not sound like something we wanted to deal with so we went ahead and left and went to St Augustine to see Kev, Loony and Char-Char.....and that is about the point when my batteries died!!

Keys Part II

On Tuesday we, of course, went back to the beach to build a sand castle.

Keys 2010 Part I

After a week long vacation we are finally home. We spent the last 2 days w/Kev, Lori and Char-Char....but the rest of the time we were in the Keys. It was great. The girls loved the water, of course. Now for the pics....

Day 1:
We left areound 4am and finally got there, Bahia Honda State Park, around 4:40 pm....it was a long way.

of course right when we got there we unhitched the camper and went to the beach.

the state park has part of an old railroad bridge in it, Flaglers Folly....look it up!

Amelia learned how to snorkel.....minus the actual snorkel:)

We went back to the camper that night and crashed.....but dont worry they were up BRIGHT and early the next day

Day 2:

We went back to the beach the next morning. Amelia resorted to laying on Donald while he snorkled with her head under water.

that afternoon Amelia and Donald went to the back to another part of the park and went fishing, Avie and I cruised around on my bike:)

Birthday Party

Since we will be on vacation (YAY!!) for Amelia's actual birthday we had her party this past weekend. She wanted to have a sleepover.....mind you I usually go to bed about 9pm!! Donald and Amy took the girls swimming at Bev's all Friday afternoon...we thought it would wear them out WRONG:) We had pizza for supper and I made the cookie cake, it was yummy!

Paige, Evan and Jenna spent the night with Amelia. Lindsey spent the night with Abby and they decided to stay with us....then they all decided to get in the playhouse. They were laughing so hard:)

Now we are in the final countdown until a week at the beach!!

Dr and Game

We went up to Atl on Thursday afternoon, Avie had a Dr appt first thing Friday. The girls were so excited to see Cathy, Buddy and especially Molly.

Avie did GREAT at the Dr. She got right up in the chair and opened her mouth....of course we only saw the Speech Dr...so...she did everything he asked. He said he was amazed how many words she knew and the number of words she said at a time....full conversations. The best part was we were RELEASED!!!!!!!! We are so glad to finally be here!!

After the Dr we went to a park so the girls could run around and play.

That night we went to the Braves Game.

They had to say goodbye to Molly the next morning.

We have been BUSY!!!

Wow...we have been busy!! Amelia was SUPER excited to finish school...so excited we finished a day early and I let her skip the last day....oh well!!

Before school got out Evan came home with us from Church and we had a fun afternoon. These two are such good friends and play so good together, Avie likes her too!!

Then we had Honor's Day at school. We knew Amelia would receive Principal's Honor Roll award.....

but she also received the highest grade on the achivement test....

and the 1st Grade Good Citizenship Award!! We are so proud of her:)

The next weekend was Memorial Day and Donald and I went camping in St Marys.

Amelia, Avie and I have all been sick...several times....and I think Avie even spread it to Charlee when they went to pick Amelia up!!

Now I LOVE pictures of the girls at the same age in the same outfit, it is so great to see how much they are alike/different!!

Avie is so funny these days and SO SMART!! She knows the alphabet, she can count to somewhere in the teens....whatever she feels like doing, and she knows most of her colors (especially the ones that are also M&M's). She just got done spanking her Mickey Mouse and telling him that was ugly.....I wonder where she has heard that before. She cracks us up with the things she says and can remember everything!

In other exciting news, Papa and Bev got a kitten....actually she showed up and will not leave. The girls LOVE her, they all have different names for her, Avie's however is most unique..."kitty". She is BAD!!!....but hilarious.

Only about 5 weeks until our vacation...I had a little panic attack about the oil spill but decided I would rather be on vacation in the oil that to not so....then Donald had me google alligator and python....go ahead do that and see the pics...then I was worried about that...but realized we would be fine....then Donald told me there are lots of iguanas....so now I am worried about that....oh well!!

1st Day of Spring

It was warm finally here today...so we took full advantage. Amelia had practice this morning so she had to break out the bag Papa got her (for her GREAT report card)!!

When they got home we went outside for the rest of the day to clean our yard and the 100000000 leaves from the oak trees. Once we finally got the front yard done Donald got the sprinkler out so Amelia took full advantage and got her bathing suit on.

Avie just walked around with chalk, a capri sun, and her glasses upside down.

Then they decided they were hungry.....

now it is 8....Amelia has been asleep since about 6:30 and Donald is.....SICK!!!!!!

Saturday they had an Alumni baseball game, the girls loved being outside finally!!! Amelia starts her coach pitched practice this week so she has been practicing.

Donald took the fence behind home plat down and they put up a concrete wall with the netting, yes you can see much better but it kinda makes me nervous.....

Last night we went to Abby's play "Stone Soup" she was one of the leads. She did so good!! Avie is actually letting Abby hold her!!

On the way home Avie fell asleep......When we were IN THE GARAGE she did this weird choking sounding cough, I told Donald (she was on his side) to get out and get her...he said she is fine...and sat there a bit....BIG MISTAKE!!! She proceeded to throw up in my car..........needless to say I was right and he was wrong...I did tell him that too!!

To say she is pathetic this morning is an understatement, she is still asleep and just not her normal wild self:( I am not sure if she was even drinking...I think she was sleeping.

Art Show

Amelia's has a piece of her art in the Art Show this month. They had a premier party on Sunday!!!

Avie has been as wild as an Indian.....she is into everything.....still coloring everywhere. Yes I have hid and put away all the crayons but I think she may have a secret stash somewhere. They always take baths together, so tonight Avie was out and dressed, Amelia was out and dressed.....then Amelia came out of the bathroom and said she had "bad news". Apparently when Amelia got out she left the rag in which was in the drain....so there was still water...and Avie climbed in fully dressed and was taking another bath....I guess maybe we should try and focus on wathcing her a little better.

She went to the ENT today, tubes are still there and all looks good he said, see her back in 6 months. While we were waiting she was playing with her Barbie phone so I asked her who she was calling...she said Dorothy (her Sunday school teacher) and Chuck........she is crazy!!!

We spent this past weekend camping at Reed Bingham with the Stokes' and Guthries (Deland & Bonnie). We had a great COLD time!!! It snowed so Amelia was thrilled, now remember this is S Ga so the least little bit is thrilling here!!

The camper started getting kinda small so we decided to venture out on a hike. Avie ~~walked~~ ran the whole way, and so she was a little worn out when we got done...thank goodness.

On Sunday, The Guthries had to leave first thing, so after Church we all decided to go for a hike. We read the trail sign and decided if we were going to go we might as well do the whole trail......Amelia did great and loved it!!!

21 months

Avie is 21 months old today...look at me right on time with this!!!! Here are 21 facts about her:

she is WILD, she goes 90 mph ALL THE TIME.
She LOVES Anna.
She can say everyones name......except Abby.....
I think she calls her apple
If you ask her the babies name she always says Char-Char
If you ask her the dogs name she always says Boo-Boo
She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...and can name the whole cast
She loves to play Barbie's in Amelias room
She HATES the remote control Barbie car....with reason it is possesed and goes by itself.
She loves toke (coke)
She fell down the deck stairs on Saturday head first and the only thing she was worried about was her pizza.
She still roams around at night, yes the doors are locked, no she can not open them, and no I am not worried she will get into something b/c she gets into everything when we are up.
She loves to climb, she scaled her bookcase to get a piggy bank off the top, thank goodness we have it screwed in the wall.
She loves to color...on everything except coloring books.
Amelia loves to use the magic eraser, and gets lots of practice based on above.
When she gets in trouble or even thinks she is in trouble she drops her little head and heads to the corner.
Sometimes in the car she will bite herself and then "pank" herself....saves time I guess.
She loves M&M's
She has been going to the potty some....
She has SERIOUS bedhead......every morning!!!!

Avie is a maniac!!! She is 100% fearless...most nights we hear her running around the house in the dark.

She loves hats.....and she ran around with her baby stroller unable to see....

Then there is the slide...she climbs to the top, stands up

Christmas 2009

I'll start at the Christmas Program...it was in the middle of the day the last day before the break, and before we went to Atlanta...talk about inconvenient. Amelia did good and could barely sing b/c she smiled the entire time:)

On Tuesday before Christmas we went to Suwannee River Music Park and saw the lights, Avie and Amelia loved it. We also saw a kazoo show....which they loved too!!

On Christmas Eve, I was off so Amelia and I went to the grocery store and a great consignment shop in town. She got a cute pair of shoes. That night we headed to Papa and Bev's!!!! Abby and Amelia read the Polar Express.

Then it was time to open presents. They got the older girls a Wii.....needless to say they were THRILLED!!!

After we put out the cookies, choc milk and key for Santa (you know since we do not have a chimney) we did a little bowling. Then we had to check the Santa tracker and it said he was in FL so we had to hurry to bed. Luckily we got to sleep in time b/c he left some presents and a note for Amelia and Avie.

Santa brought Avie a car, she LOVES it!!!

We are back from Atlanta from Avie's cleft appt. What happened you ask....nothing...

We saw everyone we needed to:

speech-they said all looked good and she can make all the pressure sounds she is suppose to be able to (D and T)
audiology-she passed, tubes are still in doing what they are suppose to.
plastic surgeon-he said she looks great, palette looks good.
dentist-all her teeth are where they are suppose to be.

I was hoping to be released (HIGH HOPES) or at best get on a 12 month visit cycle....but that did not happen...we will be going back in June!!!

This has been Homecoming Week at GCS so we have been busy!!! I took the pics of the girls for our Christmas card last weekend....so if I do not send you one consider this your Merry Christmas from the Dawkins!!

On Tuesday we had the annual VIS girls party (minus Billye, Cheryl and Connie), we took a pic this year...then we wished we would have done every year:)

Thank goodness school gets out Thursday, Amelia is READY for a break!! We have to take Avie to Children's on Friday to meet with the cleft team....at least that is the plan as we understand it. We made the appt for 11:10, my card says 11:10....on Friday night our reminder call said 10am......so who knows what will happen when we get there....my hope is we will be released, that would be a great Christmas present!!

Avie is STILL a maniac, she still loves to bite, pull hair, CLIMB, get into everything, and her newest thing is saying she pooped ALL the time....over and over I pooped, I pooped, I pooped....we are SO proud:)

Disneyworld

We left for Disney the Sunday before Thanksgiving, it was kinda rainy but it only took about 3.5 hours to get there with the camper. After we got set-up we had to go check the pool and slide out, of course Amelia was super excited. She was a little nervous when she saw it but soon was going over and over and over. The pool was heated but still pretty chilly.

After a couple of hours we decided to go chck out the boat ride to the Magic Kingdom...since we only bought a one day park pass we had to find "other" (free) things to do.

Every night at the campground they have a sing-a-long, marshmellow roasting and movie. Chip and Dale also come. Avie just waved and waved until Chip/Dale got close then she was not HAPPY!

On Monday we went back to the pool as soon as it opened, we were there for about 2 hours when a kid, right in front of us, got his front tooth knocked out....it was GROSS!!!! Donald and another lady found the tooth in the kiddie pool while I went and got a lifeguard...where were his parents you ask...AT THEIR CAMPER!!!! after the amount of blood we saw we decided we needed to go, so we got on the bus and rode over to Downtown Disney. Avie LOVED the bus!!!!

Lego Land is at Downtown Disney, AVIE loved the lego dogs, and after her pic had to kiss them.

We met the Sykes for dinner at Rainforest Cafe, which of course thrilled Amelia.

On Tuesday we headed to the Magic Kingdom!!!!

There was so much for Avie to take in and look at. This is on the first ride she went on, the Snow White ride. Amelia was a little scared.....

Avie spent a lot of the day wanting whoever was not holding her, so we saw this face a lot

you can't go to Disney without eating one of these....

After the parade we went back to the camper so the girls could take a nap....we had to driver around so Amelia could go to sleep...Avie decided she did not need a nap. About 6 we headed back to the Magic Kingdom.

Avie was awake at the gate...by the time we walked to the other side of the castle.....

The lights on the castle made it look like ice hanging down...this was the best pic I could get with my camera....ignore me....

We finished up by seeing Mickey and Minnie's House and then watching the fireworks show....none of which woke Avie up.

BED UPDATE......going ok....crib is coming down this weekend. I have had a lot of people say to let Avie cry at night...I am all about letting her cry however I do not want Amelia to wake up...we have tried letting her stay up later and sometimes it works and sometimes it does not...oh well

Sunday night Avie did not sleep too long in her bed, she made it until about 2am......Monday night she made it all night, and she only woke up when she heard Donald being so loud!!!!! We have her toy box at the end so she climbs up and over the footboard using that, for some reason she has not figured how to get out yet.....

I think she is doing well enough that this weekend the crib MAY come down.....

Thanksgiving Feast

Amelia had her school Thanksgiving Feast last Friday. The First grade dressed up like Indians, so we broke out the Halloween costume again:)

General Night was Tuesday, of course Amelia loved it.

Avie LOVED the cheerleaders and clapping!!

Thought this pic was cute of Donald, Avie (with her head off to the side), Brecken and Mr Lee.

Last night we went to the game and Grant scored his 1000th point, I can't believe he is a Senior....my cute little ring bearer in my wedding.....and who embarassed me to death in Amy's as I dragged him down the aisle and then he cried for peanuts when we got there and then fell (or may have been pushed a little) off the stage:)

And now about Avie.....she went to the Dr last Friday for her 18 month check up...cant believe she is 18 months!!! She weighed a whopping 21.3 pounds, yes I know she is tiny. Amelia weighed 21.2 pounds at 18 months but was 1/2 inch taller so she was a lot smaller. She got 6 shots, including both flu shots and has done fine. One of the guys at work who has a 2 year old asked me if I thought it was safe, I replied there have been over 4000 deaths from H1N1 in the US, I think I will take my chance with the vaccine.

Now her other issue...she is a BITER!!!! She bites a lot. When she stays with Bev she bites Anna at least once, if she was in daycare she would get kicked out. She will bite and before you even get on to her she goes and gets in the corner. Amelia & I stayed home from Church on Wedensday, when Donald got home he told me she had bit Carli (her Bible School teacher) so I was scolding her and telling her biting was bad, blah, blah, blah...she sticks her lips out and has the most sad face so I hug her and she lays her sweet little head on my shoulder and BITES ME!!!!!!! She bites Amelia at least twice a night.....she is so rotten!!

Amelia got her progress report and did so good!! She had 100's in Bible and spelling and the rest were high A's. She is doing so good!! They are having their Thnaksgiving Feast on Friday and her class has to dress like Indians....gotta breakout that costume again!!

Avie is such the climber.....she loves to open the drawer on the train table........climb up...sit in it and finally get on the train table...complete with her hair all in her face, yes I know she needs a clip but she takes them out so why bother.

Yes we put our tree up, the girls LOVE it. They have to look at every ornament every day:)

Halloween part II

Amelia said you can't wear the same costume twice for the same Halloween at about 2:00, so we had to do some digging. Amelia decided on Snow White and we pulled out a different cheerleader outfit for Avie. I DID NOT put on tattoos sonce the others took a week to come off!!

One year ago was Avie's cleft surgery. And I just realized I have the same shirt on as in this pic.....I dont get out much:)

This pic was taken not long after they brought her back to us she took the bottle right away.

The one below was taken the next day, she was much better and more like herself at this point. She did so good!! I have a friend whose little girl is having her cleft surgery on Thursday in Atlanta say a special prayer for her, giving your baby over to the nurse is a very difficult thing.

18 months

Today Avie is 18 months...here are 18 random facts:

She knows all her body parts, she has nightly test over this
She loves Mimae
She LOVES to get in Mimaes pantie and sock drawer and drag them everywhere and attempt to put them on.
She loves to help put up the folded laundry, whether you want her help or not.
She likes to color......
on furniture
and appliances (blank all over the fridge)
She has a nasty habit of picking her nose.....I think she does it now b/c we get on to her....she just laughs.
When she gets in trouble we make her stand in the corner....it is too funny wathcing her try to peak out.
She is fearless...
She loves animals and goes crazy whenever we see one...on TV or at home.
She loves Anna...which leads to .....
she loves to bite....just ask Anna or Donald or Amelia or me.....
She got to love on Charlee over the weekend and was so sweet
She likes to wave to Abby from across the Church
Very rarely does she sleep all night she usually wakes up about 2 crying and crying until you get her up then she refuses to get back in her bed and usually ends up on the couch.
She loves to take care of her babies, in fact the other night after Donald got her out of the tub and dressed and was trying to get Amelia out she put one in the tub......full of water.
She gives the sweetest hugs and kisses!!

My little Avie in a night gown I got at my neighbor's yard sale. Yes I know her hair is in her face, and everyone says cut it but well....I HATE BANGS!!! After she wore this we decided it would be awhile before she will be allowed to wear again, since she did take her diaper off several times.....She is still everywhere and into everything. We also got bedrails at the yard sale and will be moving her into a big girl bed ASAP!!just have to find a white twin size (if you have one let me know). She knows all of her body parts including her elbows which is so cute when she does, she can say everything you tell her, she does better at times than others. She is doing better with her b and p sounds which is very encouraging. She LOVES Anna!! She stays with bev on Monday and Tuesday with Anna and loves to hug and kiss her, which I am SURE Anna loves too, they are always excited to see each other!!

oh what a week

A few weeks ago, after I dropped Avie off, I had to stop back at the house and put some clothes in the dryer. As I was pulling in a snake slithered in with me.....I was a little alarmed but was able to work through it. Well Friday, Amelia rode with Donald so I came out to put Avie in the car and as I walked around there was a snake. I HATE SNAKES!!!!! and before you ask...to me it was an ANACONDA!!!!! anyway....I thought ok this will be fine, I will go in get my stuff and crawl through the drivers side.....I go to walk by the Barbie car RIGHT BY THE DOOR and I saw a tail go under....I LOST IT!!!!! I decided I could not get inside, usually my phone is in the car but it was still inside.....so I walked across the street (his truck and car were there) I banged on the door and rang the doorbell.....no answer. My next door neigbor had already left so walk (holding Avie) a couple doors down...no answer...after several more no answers at ALL my neighbors houses I checked the garage again....both still there.

Then I see a man walking, from a distance I was guessing his age to be about 60...the closer he got the older he got when he finally got to me I know he was pushing 85-90. I told him I needed some help, I explained my predictament, he said he does not like snakes....I said well do you have a phone. He said he lived about 300 yards down the road he would go get it, what he should have said was that he lived 1/2 mile down the road. 20 minutes later he comes walking back, why he did not drive I do not know. I called Donalds dad to come get them out. At this point Clyde, my new friend wants to see the snakes...so he beebops to the garage peeks in and says "I aint going in there"...then he proceeds to tell me that when he was in Pakistan they had cobras and just a couple of weeks ago a snake got on his back steps and was half way in his house, I told him I was about to throw up....he then asked if I needed him to stay with me...uh...NO.

Donalds dad got the 2 snakes out and also a dried dead one....so then I decide I need some snake away...our garage and backyard now smell like moth balls......I do not care as long as the snakes stay away!!!

On Saturday I took the girls for donuts and to the park. I also went and got both of their Christmas dresses.

Prayers for Adalynn

Please say a prayer for my friend Shannon's little girl Adalynn. She fell with her toothbrush in her mouth and after 3 trips to the ER, and then going to their ENT and being admitted she was diagnosed with a hematoma in her throat, which is potentially fatal since it can cut off the airway. I think they have to monitor and wait until it goes down. Donald and I have decided we will not just give Avie her toothbrush to roam around with anymore.....

I had my appt with the diabetes Dr (rather PA) today. I had all my bloodwork done, all looked good except my cholesterol.....my bad one is up. It has always been between 80-85 it is 107......I am going to try and get it down myself.....and will have it rechecked before my next appt in 3 months.

The girls have been crazy....Avie bit Amelia on Wednesday on her face...HARD. She is into everything and is busy, busy, busy!! She runs full speed everywhere, usually because she has taken or gotten into something she shouldn't.

Also my blog buddy Heather advised on how to update your blog settings to make loading pics easier....way better and faster!!....however can not find the spell check button now.

Carrabelle!!

We packed up Friday and headed to Carrabelle for the long weekend. It was great. We got in and set up by about 7 Friday night so Amelia and I decided to go swimming. As I was helping Amelia with her shoes, Avie fell out of the camper and down the steps....it was very traumatic!!! She landed face first in the gravel, she scratched up her face pretty good. After we got her settled down (and ourselves) we went to the pool. Then Donald came over to ask where the top of Amelia's TV was (the speakers) yep left at home.....great.

The next morning the campground had a kids fishing tournament, Amelia got a free fishing pole and tackle box, she was so proud. Then we hit the beach to go fishing, Amelia soon lost interest in the fishing. They must have really good sand there because Avie ate her weight in it:)

They have a great boat playground there, they loved it. However this is where Avie's next accident occurred. There were windows in the side and Donald had put her down to look out of them, she did fine with the first...and the second...totally missed the step on the third and fell....yep opened up the scratches from the first fall.

We put Avie down the big tube slide by herself, it was so funny, she inched her way down as easy as she could.

I tried to do a self portrait...but me having to sprint over and climb up in 10 seconds is near about impossible...........

Avie's third accident happened Sunday night, the camper has a booth like dining set. We take her booster seat and even strap her in, however there is nothing to strap the seat to. Usually we have her all the way by the wall and sit beside her...well Donald decided, for some unknown reason to pull her over to the middle and get up.....she leaned over a little to far and her and the chair flipped over to the floor, she did not even cry. I guess at this point she was use to it:)

Avie loves Cheetos!! She loves them so much she has to hold all of them while she is eating. She is ready for the first game, the bow lasted about 2 minutes then those bangs were in her eyes.

Both girls went to the ENT today, Avie's ears looked fined go back in 6 months. Dr L had to cauterize some vessels in Amelia's nose....DRAMA!!!! He said she had several right on the surface, she has to go back in 3 weeks.

Avie turned 16 months this week. She is getting so big!!! She can do all kind of great things, like climb on and off the couch, open cabinets with locks on them, pick up micro things off the floor, get out of the belts in her carseat, hide sippy cups with milk in them in places you would never think of....that is our fave thing!!

I am growing her hair out, but she refuses to wear bows or barrettes she just pulls them right out. However she did not get this ponytail holder out!! She discovered UGA she is going in for the kiss here. (I thought of you Shannon)

We were finally talk Amelia out of wearing these shoes to Church....

They both go to the ENT today, Avie for her ears and Amelia for the nose bleeds.

We have had a busy week. Avie was sick all day last Sunday...her tummy again.

Amelia loves to take pictures. On Monday Amelia went for her check up. She weighed 41 pounds. She jumped quite a bit on the growth chart and is now at 24%. She is 43 inches tall, I can not remember the % on that but Dr M did say she did not move much there.

Monday night Amelia had to harvest her garden, this was the first picking. We got 4 cherry tomatoes. They were very good, on Wednesday we got another one.

On Thursday Avie had her ear tube follow up. I told the Dr she had been pulling and messing with one of her ears. There is some dried blood blocking the tube, which I think defeats the purpose. He gave some cleaning instructions, which grossed me out and we have to go back in one week.

Thursday at lunch Donald called to tell me that Amelia had a nose bleed at school. She has not had one in a couple of months but was enough for me to call the Dr, b/c the dry air theory right now is crazy! So they set up an appt at the ENT. I made it where I can take both at the same time.

Today we went to the Jacksonville Zoo. The girls loved it!! They have a stingray exhibit where you can pet them, they are like little maniacs!!

They have these sculpture all over, which Avie loved.....and kissed.

Of course Amelia wanted to ride this lion which is right next to the biggest tallest one....that I had to hold Avie on.

On the way home Amelia had another nose bleed, somewhere on I10, which does not have the best (cleanest) choices to stop in. We were able to get it stopped pretty quick, then she rode like she had a broke neck the rest of the way.

Kev, Lori and CharChar dropped the two big dogs off with their grandparents since they are going out of town. They came and ate Saturday night. Avie was so funny on the couch with her she kept patting her head and pointing at her. Pretty soon though Charlee wanted no more of it.... Avie was sick on Sunday...went through several diapers AND outfits!! Hopefully she is just cutting another tooth, we have been dealing with this for almost a month. She will run fever have a bad tummy, but then be fine. She has cut one of her I-teeth and the other bottom tooth....
