here goes.........

Well last Friday we packed up the camper for our maiden voyage. We decided not to go too far so we were there and set up before dark. Amelia loved riding her bike all over the place, and Avie loved stealing all the rings from the ring toss game. We think she may have a sharing problem...

The both got lots of entertainment from this curtain.

We forgot Avie's booster seat to eat in so we grabbed Amelia's seat from the car, it worked out good. We have several trips planned, including one with Abby and Anna!!
On Monday we went to Atlanta for Avie's appointment with, we thought, would be the whole cleft team, of course there was a mix-up so we only ended up seeing the speech pathologist. Avie took right to him, even offering him some of her cheerios. He said she was where she should be, maybe a little more as far as speech. He said the surgery site looked great and if you did not know she had a cleft and the repair you could not tell.
He did a test on her ears where the measure the time it takes a signal to get to her ear drum and back, I think we may still be waiting on the signal.....he said she needed to be seen by our ENT here in town. He said he was not saying there was hearing loss and hopefully tubes would get rid of all the fluid that is there. He also recommended we see the Pediatric Dentist, luckily we have one here so he said that was fine. We do have to go back in 6 months, this time to see the whole team.
So on Wednesday we took Avie to the dentist. Now for those of you who have taken a 13 month old to have her teeth, all 5 of them, cleaned, examined and fluoride applied then you know how it went. She was not happy when the hygienist and I pried her mouth open, she did like the bubble game cleaner though. The dentist said her arch looked small but that everything else looked good, we have to go back there in 6 months as well. She sees the ENT on Thursday of this week.
And....I did finish the 30 day shred in 30 days and lost 0 pounds!!!!! So I decided to start running and have been doing very well up to 20 minutes straight. However after my run on Friday my foot started hurting with EVERY step I took, so our in office Dr diagnosed a heel spur....she also said it is a part of getting old. It is very painful!!!! I thought after being off of it all night the paid would subside, but this morning it hurts just as bad. Hopefully if I let it rest all weekend it will feel better on Monday.

Hey, Dawkins Family!!! I want to go camp with you all!!!! What a great set up you have!!! How did Avie do at night??? We are heading for vacation next week, and I am very anxious about sleeping arrangements. We'll see. Reid is just so routined...it stresses me out! Glad to hear that they speech appointment went well...so sorry you couldn't see everyone. I hate that! And yes, the dentist thing...hate it. Reid has not been formally cleaned, and I can not imagine. He would probably have to be strapped to the chair! Glad you are all well....love the updates!

That camper looks like so much fun! What a great way to create family memories you will all share forever.

Glad the appointment went well, but how frustrating not to see who you expected. I can't believe how fast Avie has changed, and Amelia seems like such a sweet big sister! I hope you enjoy your summer camping!

Take Care,

Allison

I hope you kicked the Dr. when she said it was part of getting old! Who is getting old???? What Dentist did you see and what ENT are you going to? Jess went to the Dentist last week and we finally had a easy check-up-been going every 6 mo. since she was 3!!!!! Was that encouraging??? The camper looks like fun?
